What is SPASA?
SPASA stands for the Swimming Pool & Spa Association. It is the peak industry body for the pool and spa sector in Australia and New Zealand, bringing together businesses across the industry.
Its work includes education, industry representation, member support and the promotion of pool and spa ownership. Its membership covers a wide range of businesses, including service technicians, retailers, equipment suppliers and pool builders.
For Pool Perfectionists, belonging to this industry community is relevant to both sides of our business: caring for local pools and helping customers choose equipment and supplies. Our membership reflects our commitment to professional pool care and practical, informed support.

A commitment to professional standards
SPASA members are bound by its Code of Conduct and Ethics. The Code addresses the way members conduct their work, communicate with customers and represent their products and services.
- Honest information. Product and service claims should be supportable, with genuine pricing and clear marketing.
- Suitable products and services. Recommendations should be fit for their intended purpose.
- Professional advice and workmanship. Members should work to the standards described to their customers and the requirements applicable to that work.
- Respectful business conduct. The Code calls for fairness, integrity and professional behaviour.
- Continued development. It encourages participation in training and other opportunities to improve professional practice.
These principles give customers a useful basis for discussing a job: what is included, why it is recommended and what outcome is expected.

Technical resources and industry updates
SPASA lists technical advice, member resources, industry news and updates on legislation and compliance among its membership benefits. Members can also connect with other industry professionals through events and networking.
These resources provide a way to stay connected as pool products, technology and industry requirements change. Access to current information can support better questions, clearer explanations and more considered equipment choices.

Opportunities to keep learning
SPASA Training offers nationally recognised qualifications as well as workshops, e-learning and other development pathways. Its subject areas include service and maintenance, water quality, business and retail, alongside other pool and spa disciplines.
Membership provides access to an industry learning network. Individual qualifications and completed courses are separate credentials, so please ask us about any specific qualification relevant to your proposed work.

What this means for your pool
Our focus is on making pool ownership easier. Based in Oyster Bay and Casula, NSW, we provide local pool care across the Sutherland Shire and selected Sydney suburbs, alongside our online range of robots, equipment, accessories and chemicals. Contact us to confirm service availability for your address.
Regular cleaning and maintenance
When discussing regular pool care, tell us how the pool is used, what equipment is installed and any concerns you have noticed. Ask what a visit includes, how often servicing is recommended and how chemicals or additional work are priced. A clear scope helps you understand the service you are booking.
Choosing a robotic pool cleaner
A robot should suit your pool and the cleaning you need. Useful details include pool size, surface, steps, typical debris and whether you want floor, wall or waterline cleaning. Browse our pool robots and speak with us about the differences between models, including maintenance and warranty information.
Repairs and equipment upgrades
For repairs and upgrades, let us know the equipment model, symptoms and any recent changes. Photographs of the equipment and its label can help start the conversation. Before proceeding, clarify the proposed work, compatibility with the existing setup, installation arrangements and any exclusions.
Start with the right information. Your suburb, a short description of the problem and a few clear photos help us understand what you need and discuss the next step.
Choosing your pool team with confidence
SPASA encourages consumers to ask questions and carry out their own checks when choosing a business. Membership is a useful industry connection to consider alongside experience relevant to your job, a clear quote, product suitability and the support available after purchase.
For your own records, keep the agreed scope, price, product model and warranty information together. If a service or purchase needs clarification, contact the business directly with those details so the issue can be understood.
You can explore SPASA’s member directory or contact SPASA directly about association membership. For questions about Pool Perfectionists and your proposed service, our team is the best starting point.

Your SPASA membership questions
Is Pool Perfectionists a SPASA member?
Yes. Pool Perfectionists is proud to be a SPASA member. We are based in Oyster Bay and Casula, NSW, and supply pool products online as well as providing local cleaning, repairs and upgrades.
Is membership the same as certification or accreditation?
SPASA membership and specific certification or accreditation are distinct. SPASA describes a separate professional development program for certification and accreditation. Our “Proud SPASA Member” statement refers to association membership. Read SPASA’s certification and accreditation information (PDF).
Does membership mean every technician has completed the same training?
Training opportunities and individual qualifications are different things. Membership alone does not identify which courses a particular person has completed. Ask us about the experience and qualifications relevant to the work you are considering.
Does the SPASA badge provide an extra product warranty?
The badge identifies our association membership. For a purchase, refer to the warranty information for that specific product and the terms provided with your order. We can help you find the relevant details before you choose equipment.
Do I need to be a SPASA member to use your services?
No. Homeowners can contact us for pool care, repairs and equipment advice, or shop through our website. This page explains Pool Perfectionists’ industry membership; it is separate from any customer membership or pricing offer on our website.
Can I ask about service in my suburb?
Absolutely. Tell us your suburb, the type of service you need and a little about your pool. We will confirm availability and discuss the next step. Being based in Oyster Bay and Casula does not mean every service is available at every address.
